The first food aid shipment in three weeks docked at the rebel-held Red Sea port of Saleef in Yemen, carrying about 25,000 tonnes of wheat for the UN World Food Programme. Hodeida, the main UN delivery port, remains blocked after a Saudi-led coalition imposed a port and airport blockade earlier in November.
Humanitarian wheat deliveries are small relative to global trade, so the price effect is limited, though the continued blockade of Hodeida keeps Yemen's import demand for grain and feed constrained.
