Chinese economists urged tighter scrutiny of cross-border capital flows after the US Senate approved a tax bill cutting the corporate rate to 20% from 35%. They expect the bill to prompt profit repatriation, attract capital into the US and lift the dollar.
A stronger dollar and capital outflows from China would put pressure on the yuan and raise the local cost of dollar-priced feed imports. The effect on grain prices depends on how far the dollar moves.
