After the December 2017 Fed meeting, the dollar fell because the dot plot showed three rate hikes for 2018 rather than four. Lower-than-expected October core CPI inflation of 1.7 percent also weighed on the dollar.
Expectations of fewer rate hikes weaken the dollar, which can modestly support dollar-denominated grain and meal prices.
