The dollar index fell to its lowest level in over three months on December 29, 2017, on track for its steepest annual drop since 2003. Analysts cited doubts about the durability of U.S. growth after the tax overhaul and expectations that other central banks would reduce stimulus.
A weaker dollar makes U.S. commodities cheaper for foreign buyers, which tends to support export demand and prices for feed grains and meals.
