The Philippine National Food Authority approved palay buying prices of P23-30/kg for dry clean grain and P17-23/kg for fresh grain. NFA warehouse stocks will be auctioned at discounts to PSA monitored prices.
Higher government buying prices support domestic palay values and aim to let NFA compete with traders, which tightens the local rice supply. Auctions of reserve stocks partly offset this.
