An FAO-linked article reviews the Agricultural Market Information System (AMIS), created by the G20 in 2011 to improve food market transparency and policy coordination after the 2007-10 price spikes. It warns that concentrated export supplies and transport-route vulnerabilities pose new risks to food security.
Greater policy coordination reduces the chance of panic export bans that cause sharp grain price spikes, but concentrated export origins keep supply shock risk elevated for feed grain markets.
