Europe's high stocks of skim milk powder are weighing on global milk protein prices. Rabobank says the EU stocks could be sold within six months at a potential 30% discount.
CME Class III contracts for February to July averaged about $14 per cwt., while August to December averaged $15.60.
A possible EU skim milk powder sell-off at a deep discount would pressure global dairy protein prices and cut the cost of dairy-based feed ingredients. Forward Class III pricing already reflects this expected rebound later in the year.
