SIMCO, owned by Greg Dolbeare, is developing a 65-acre site in Pike County, Illinois, for a grain elevator and barge-loading terminal on the Mississippi after receiving final permits. The planned facility will have six 200,000-bushel silos and total capacity of 1.2 million bushels, mostly corn and soybeans.
New barge-loading capacity adds handling options for Illinois grain, but at this stage it is a small, long-term infrastructure development with negligible near-term price impact.
