A South Dakota Soybean Association industry piece argues that biodiesel adds 63 cents per bushel to U.S. soybean value. It says increased biodiesel demand lowers soybean meal costs for livestock producers.
The article also cites biodiesel use rising to more than 2.8 billion gallons in 2016.
Biodiesel demand supports soybean oil and crush margins, which in turn increases meal supply and can hold down meal prices. This is promotional commentary rather than a new market event.
