China reported an H7N9 HPAI outbreak at a commercial laying flock in Ningxia in late April, with all 86,000 hens lost. Separately, low-pathogenic H5 avian influenza was found on a Danish duck farm, the first commercial case in Denmark since 2016, and wild birds tested positive for H5N6 in parts of Europe.
Losses of laying hens in China and detections in Europe tighten egg and poultry supply in some markets, a modest negative for poultry feed demand.
