China announced a 25 percent retaliatory tariff on multiple US goods including sorghum, soybeans, cotton, wheat, beef and pork, effective July 6. The move responds to new US tariffs of 25 percent on 1,102 Chinese goods.
Tariffs on US sorghum and soybeans reduce Chinese import demand and pressure US feed grain and oilseed prices, while encouraging buyers to shift to other origins.
