Malaysia's second-quarter GDP growth slowed to 4.5% year on year from 5.4% in the first quarter, well below the 5.2% expected, driven by weak net exports. ING cut its 2018 growth forecast to 4.5% and expects Bank Negara to hold policy steady for the rest of the year.
The central bank also cut its own forecast to 5.0%.
