An OPEC and non-OPEC monitoring committee found that participating producers cut output in July by 9% more than agreed. Compliance was 120% in June and 147% in May, showing producers have kept increasing supply.
The technical committee will meet again on September 11, before a ministerial meeting on September 23.
Output above agreed cuts adds barrels to the market and pressures crude prices lower, which lowers energy costs for feed production and transport.
