Indonesia's deputy coordinating minister said global palm oil prices are expected to rise from an average of RM2,200 per tonne once the B20 biodiesel mandate is enforced across all sectors. Indonesia is also trialing B30 and may raise the mandate next year.
Expanded domestic biodiesel use would remove palm oil from export markets, which supports higher palm oil prices and tightens vegetable oil supply.
