S&P Global Ratings expects the euro to stay weak against the dollar until mid-2019 as the Fed tightens faster than the ECB, which is not expected to raise rates before summer 2019. The euro was down 2.24 percent year-to-date near 1.173 per dollar.
A persistently strong dollar tends to pressure dollar-denominated commodity prices and can make US feed exports less competitive against euro-based buyers' alternatives.
