The euro rose 0.6 percent above 1.18 per dollar after ECB President Draghi said underlying inflation would rise as a tightening labor market pushes up wages. German 10-year yields reached their highest since mid-June, and the ECB kept rates unchanged earlier that month.
A firmer euro and higher European yields reduce dollar strength, which can support dollar-priced commodity values and ease import costs for EU feed buyers.
