The U.S. Grains Council said its promotion programs helped set a record of nearly 1.4 billion gallons of ethanol exports in marketing year 2016/17, valued at $2.37 billion. The U.S. share of global ethanol exports rose to nearly 65% in 2017 from 50% in 2016.
Record export demand for US ethanol supports corn and sorghum demand and the DDGS co-product supply chain. This is a retrospective figure rather than a new market shock.
