Cattle market responses to recent market turmoil

Live cattle futures fell from about $112/cwt in February to $86/cwt in March as the Dow dropped below 19,000 amid COVID-19 economic concerns. Cash fed cattle declined from nearly $120 to about $106/cwt over the same period.

Labor disruptions at packing plants are also a risk.
