Texas A&M AgriLife experts said 2018 was a difficult year for Texas corn and sorghum growers due to drought, high temperatures, low prices and record Midwestern yields. Corn and sorghum acres fell slightly, and dryland yields were below typical levels.
Lower regional output is a small supply factor, but the story mainly reflects low prices and record US yields, which keep feed-grain prices under pressure.
