Indian 5% broken parboiled rice quotes slipped to $364-$368 per tonne from $366-$370 the prior week, as a weaker rupee and slow demand pressured prices. Vietnamese 5% broken rice fell to $400 from $408 as stricter Chinese inspections muted exports, and some shipments were being taken back from ports.
Weaker Indian export prices and Chinese import curbs on Vietnamese rice add supply competition and soften global rice export values. Buyers should expect continued softness in Asian rice quotes while China's inspections persist.
