USSEC held its first poultry nutrition conference in Algiers, attended by about 40 Algerian poultry producers and feed millers. Speakers argued that U.S. soybean meal offers more value than meal from other origins because of higher digestible amino acids and metabolizable energy.
Export promotion aimed at Algerian feed buyers supports U.S. soybean meal demand in North Africa. The effect on prices is modest because it is a promotional event rather than a new purchase.
