Vietnamese animal feed producers are upgrading facilities and quality controls as diseases spread through livestock and poultry. Authorities have flagged meat and bone meal shipments that failed veterinary hygiene requirements, including a 450-tonne batch fined and ordered re-exported.
Tighter hygiene scrutiny on meat and bone meal could restrict supply of this protein ingredient in Vietnam and push feed buyers toward alternative proteins such as soybean meal.
