ECOS, an environmental NGO, published feedback on the European Commission's draft delegated act labelling palm oil biofuels as high ILUC risk. The group welcomed the step but criticized its narrow scope, noting only palm oil is covered and palm oil can be certified low risk under vague criteria.
The EU classification restricts palm oil use in EU biofuels, reducing demand for palm oil and related vegetable oils, which is bearish for palm oil prices while soy oil remains outside the restriction.
