Strategie Grains cut its 2019/20 EU soft wheat forecast to 143.9 million tonnes from 144.8 million and barley to 60.3 million from 61.0 million. The cuts reflected smaller acreage in Denmark and the Czech Republic and drought damage in Hungary, though the outlook remains above last year's harvest.
Slightly lower EU wheat and barley supplies tighten the feed grain balance modestly, a supportive but limited price factor given harvests still exceed 2018.
