Trump's sanctions cut more OPEC oil output than OPEC itself

OPEC+ agreed in December to cut supply by 1.2 million bpd from January 1, with OPEC's share at 800,000 bpd. The actual cut exceeds 2.5 million bpd because Saudi Arabia has voluntarily cut more and because U.S. sanctions have removed Venezuelan and Iranian output.

重要性

U.S. sanctions are removing more barrels than the formal OPEC quota, which tightens crude supply and supports prices. Higher energy costs feed into diesel, fertilizer and freight expenses for feed buyers.
