Oil World data show Iran cut oilseed imports 13% in June-July 2019 while sharply raising vegetable oil imports (up 71% to 984k tonnes) and meal imports (up 2.3 times to 1.59 mln tonnes). Soybean meal supplies rose 2.5 times year on year, displacing sunflower and rapeseed meal.
Iran's shift toward soymeal and vegetable oil imports supports demand for soybean meal and oils from Argentina, Brazil and India, while reducing demand for sunflower and rapeseed meal.
