Scouts on the annual Illinois corn yield tour reported potentially smaller yields in west-central Illinois after extreme weather and heavy rains delayed planting across the Midwest. Yields were projected to improve as the tour moved west.
Yields below average in a major corn state tighten the supply outlook and support corn prices, though the improving western estimates limit the upside.
