USDA's September WASDE cut the 2019 U.S. corn yield to 168.2 bushels per acre and production to 13.799 billion bushels, while soybean yield fell to 47.9 bpa and production to 3.633 billion bushels. Corn and soybean ending stocks estimates were mixed in their implications for prices.
Lower U.S. production estimates tighten the new-crop feed grain and soybean supply, supporting corn, soybean and soymeal prices. Bearish corn stocks offset part of the effect.
