DTN reports that US corn and soybean development is running 8 to 15 days behind normal across much of the Midwest, with corn denting at 79%, the slowest pace since 2009. Soil moisture is mixed, with saturated profiles in parts of the Plains and western Midwest and drier conditions in Indiana and Ohio.
A late-maturing crop raises the risk of frost damage and lower yields, and it may delay harvest and yield confirmation. That supports corn and soybean prices and tightens feed grain availability for buyers.
