Chinese importers bought about 10 boatloads, roughly 600,000 tonnes, of U.S. soybeans on Monday for shipment from Pacific Northwest terminals from October to December. The purchases followed deputy-level trade talks in Washington, which were overshadowed by a cancelled farm state visit by Chinese officials.
Sizeable new Chinese purchases for fall shipment support U.S. soybean export sales and prices, though the market still awaits follow-through on broader trade commitments.
