Southern Indiana farmers report early corn and soybean yields well below expectations, with early soybeans near 30 bushels and corn around 150. Two weeks of 90-degree heat and little rain caused crops to mature prematurely and shrank kernels.
Pioneer agronomist Brian Bush says the yield loss will be significant.
