US retail diesel rose about 20 cents in two days to $3.929 per gallon, up 31 cents from a year earlier. NYMEX heating oil futures were near $3.26 per gallon, up roughly 68 cents from the prior Friday, as the Strait of Hormuz closure disrupted refined product flows.
Higher diesel costs ahead of spring planting raise farm operating and feed transport costs, and the analyst expects further upside in fuel prices.
