The US Treasury removed China from its currency manipulator list just two days before the phase one trade deal signing. The yuan had weakened past 7 per dollar in August, and its level on removal was close to where it traded before the label was applied.
The removal reduces trade-tension risk around China's Phase One purchase commitments, supporting the outlook for US farm exports.
