Tunisia reported that its phosphate output roughly doubled in the first quarter compared with the same period last year. The state targets 5.5 million tonnes of output in 2022.
The country aims to regain its place as a leading exporter while fertiliser prices are high due to the war in Ukraine.
Higher Tunisian output adds export supply to a market that is otherwise tight, which could cap phosphate price gains. The effect is modest because global supply remains constrained.
