The United States will halve the tariff rate on a $120 billion list of Chinese goods to 7.5%, down from the rate imposed September 1. Tariffs of 25% on $250 billion of Chinese goods remain unchanged for now.
Lower tariffs on Chinese consumer goods reduce trade friction and may support broader US-China trade flows, including farm purchases, though the immediate grain price effect is limited.
