Thirteen Dutch companies and research institutes launched a public-private partnership to boost use of co-products and residues in feed. A first study found poultry-based animal protein products (PAPs) have higher digestible protein than the generic feed-table values, implying species-specific inclusion values are needed.
Better-characterized poultry PAPs could expand usable protein for pig diets in Europe, modestly easing demand for soy-based and other imported protein meals.
