The EPA finalized a rule setting the 2021 biomass-based diesel statutory minimum at 2.43 billion gallons, unchanged from 2020. The agency said advanced biofuel requirements are driving biodiesel and renewable diesel use above the biomass-based diesel standard.
A firm 2.43 billion gallon floor for 2021 supports steady soybean oil demand from the biofuel sector. This underpins soybean oil prices and crush margins that feed meal supply.
