Central Illinois leads corn and soybean production as numbers decline across state

Capitol News Illinois reports that central Illinois counties led the state in corn and soybean production in 2019 after USDA estimates showed declines in nearly every county. McLean County produced over 61 million bushels of corn and 18 million of soybeans, and Sangamon County led in yields at 206.3 bushels per acre.
