Lean hog futures rose on March 6 to their highest since February 26 after USDA reported China bought 4,475 tonnes of US pork in the week to February 27. Shipments to China reached 17,531 tonnes, and China was expected to cut retaliatory duties on US goods including pork.
Stronger Chinese purchases and expected tariff relief raise export demand for US pork, supporting hog prices.
