Bloomberg reports that oat planting expansion, led by Canada with a 9% acreage increase to the largest since 2009, could outstrip export and milling demand. Analysts expect prices to decline once the crop is planted in April and May.
A projected oat glut from larger Canadian acreage would be bearish for oat prices and cheapen oat-based feed ingredients later in 2020.
