Wheat futures bounced sharply off an eight-month low as concerns over the EU winter crop grew, outweighing worries about Russia. Western and central Europe had insufficient spring rain, and Siberian spring wheat is short of moisture.
EU exports have passed 35 million tonnes, with Russian exports restricted for the final two months of the marketing year.
Dryness in the EU and Siberia threatens northern hemisphere wheat output, supporting prices. Strong EU exports and Russian restrictions also tighten export availability for feed grains.
