ECB Goes All Out With 600 Billion Euro Increase in Bond Buying

The European Central Bank increased its emergency bond-buying programme by 600 billion euros to 1.35 trillion euros and extended purchases to at least the end of June 2021. The move was bigger than analysts expected.

The euro reversed earlier losses after the announcement.

Larger ECB bond buying weakens the euro against the dollar, which makes dollar-priced grain and oilseed exports from the US and Brazil relatively more expensive for euro buyers.
