The International Grains Council cut its 2020/21 global wheat production forecast by 5.6Mt to 762.0Mt, leaving a 12.1Mt surplus. Reductions were made for the EU, US, Russia and Argentina, while stocks are still expected to rise, mainly in China and India.
A smaller projected world wheat surplus removes some bearish supply pressure, supporting wheat prices, though large stocks outside exporting countries limit the rally.
