European gas benchmarks posted strong gains in August, with the TTF hub up about 50% on the month on stronger power-sector demand and lower LNG inflows. Asian JKM prices rose about 45% on higher Chinese demand and supply issues at Gorgon T2.
Henry Hub rose about 30% as US production fell.
Rising global gas prices raise the cost of nitrogen fertilizer production in Europe and Asia, supporting fertilizer prices. The rally also tightens the energy backdrop for feed and ethanol-linked costs.
