Argentina's government is weighing a cut to export taxes on processed soybean products, according to Ciara-Cec head Gustavo Idigoras. Agriculture Minister Luis Basterra had said on July 29 that a tax cut for soy meal and oil was being analyzed.
A lower export tax on meal and oil would make Argentine crushing more competitive and could increase meal and oil exports, pressuring world soymeal prices lower while raising raw bean export competitiveness concerns.
