The dollar index rose 0.44% on Monday, its biggest gain of the year, after the ISM reported unexpected US factory activity growth in January following five months of contraction. Concerns over the coronavirus outbreak kept the yuan and Australian dollar subdued.
A stronger dollar on upbeat US manufacturing data lowers the dollar price of US commodity exports and firms import-dependent currencies. The effect on feed grain prices is modest.
