India's 5% broken parboiled rice prices rose to an 18-month high of $387-394 a tonne as pandemic disruptions limited container availability and milling at Kakinada. Bangladesh may need to import rice after floods and cyclones damaged its crops, and Vietnamese prices also rose on low domestic supplies.
Constrained Indian export logistics and possible Bangladeshi import demand tighten the global rice supply and support prices. Higher rice prices raise the cost of rice-based feed ingredients.
