USDA's Economic Research Service reported that US live cattle imports for January through August 2020 were larger than in the same period of 2019, while hog imports were flat. The release is a chart-based data note.
Higher live cattle imports add supply to the US feeder and fed cattle complex, which can modestly pressure cattle prices; flat hog imports have little price effect.
