AgroPages reports that urea demand from India has been strong in 2020, with back-to-back tenders and a record 2.1 million tonne tender. Chinese urea exports have declined in recent years as inefficient plants closed, tightening supply.
Large Indian import demand combined with reduced Chinese export availability supports global urea prices, which feeds through to higher nitrogen costs for grain production.
