The weekly EIA retail diesel average rose 5.8 cents to $2.441 a gallon, the largest one-week gain since September 2019. The ULSD futures contract rose on two consecutive Mondays of vaccine news, and WTI climbed to $41.34 a barrel from $37.14 since November 6.
Vaccine-driven crude rallies lift diesel and fuel surcharge costs for feed distribution. Energy strength also supports biofuel feedstock economics.
